HIRAM WILLIAMS
Hiram Williams was an American artist and influential teacher for sixty years. He attended the prestigious Art Students League in New York, and after serving in the military during World War II, he completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education at Pennsylvania State University. Often referred to as a “painter's painter,” Williams continued to create art throughout his teaching career, frequently painting abstract figures as well as representational portraiture. A Professor Emeritus at the University of Florida, Williams was inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame in 1994.
