VOLUNTEER
DONATE YOUR TIME TO MOCA JACKSONVILLE
Volunteering at MOCA Jacksonville is rewarding and fun! You will learn about the work that goes on behind the scenes at the museum and how you can be a part of it. You could welcome guests at special events, assist visitors with art activities, share information about exhibitions and programs, promote the benefits of membership, spread the word about museum events, and much more.
MOCA volunteers are advocates in our community for the arts. Applicants must enjoy working with people of diverse interests, backgrounds, and ages. People who have an interest in community service, the arts, and visitor interaction are welcome. More detailed responsibilities are listed for each opportunity. Accommodations can be made upon request to increase the accessibility volunteer roles.
For more information, questions, or to register as a MOCA Volunteer, please reach out to the Volunteer team at mocamembership@unf.edu.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
EXPANDING MOCA’S REACH BEYOND THE MUSEUM WALLS
Help our team reach as many parts of the community as possible! MOCA regularly participates in outreach events around town as an avenue to reach more people with our mission. Outreach opportunities bring us beyond the museum's walls and across Jacksonville to places such as libraries, the zoo, parks, and more. Volunteer duties include setting up and breaking down information tables, promoting MOCA events and membership, and assisting guests with art-making activities. These opportunities may require long bouts of standing, lifting up to 30 pounds, and exposure to various weather conditions.

AUTISM CREATES
Autism Creates is an educational initiative designed for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other exceptionalities. Volunteer duties include prepping art supplies, engaging with students, providing project assistance to students, and helping monitor students to promote a safe and effective environment. TEEN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES THAT INSPIRE
MOCA offers teens opportunities to get more involved at the museum while completing volunteer service hours that fulfill college and scholarship requirements, while developing skills and experience teens can take into college and future employment.
TEEN TEACHERS
This volunteer program provides teens with the opportunity to assist museum educators in facilitating Summer Camp @ MOCA. Camp is geared toward children ages 6-14 and includes time in the studios and galleries with inspirational and engaging activities that explore the world of contemporary art. Teen teachers will assist with art making activities. Themes include painting and printmaking, murals and public spaces, photography, and so much more! Volunteer hours count toward requirements for college and scholarships. Shifts are available during all camp weeks and volunteers are asked to commit to at least 2 weeks of service.
TEEN ART COUNCIL
This volunteer group serves to empower local middle and high school students by creating programming for teens, by teens. Members of Teen Art Council meet bi-weekly throughout the school year to learn about the museum, engage with different departments, develop mission-driven projects, and plan a new annual event for teenagers. As Teen Art Council members create and implement programs, they will open doors to new audiences. Members also earn volunteer hours for their participation that count toward college and scholarship requirements.
