GUSTAVO GODOY
Sculptor Gustavo Godoy received his MFA in Studio Art from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2005. His studies also include architecture and urban design at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a BA in Studio Art from University of California, Santa Barbara. Not only are Godoy's sculptures often large in size and formed by angular, geometric pieces of metal and other salvaged materials like Plexiglas and fluorescent light bulbs, but they also are created with the intention of visitor engagement. “Please do not touch” signs are absent in his installations. In this way, Godoy bridges the gap between commercial construction and three-dimensional fine art.
