MOCA JACKSONVILLE DIRECTOR CAITLÍN DOHERTY RECOGNIZED BY MERIDIAN INTERNATIONAL CENTER

Jacksonville arts leader and Executive Director of MOCA Caitlín Doherty has been invited to serve on the Meridian International Center's Cultural Diplomacy Leadership Council. Doherty is among 55 Council members including prominent cultural figures, many representing major arts and cultural institutions, such as the National Museum of African American Art, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Shakespeare Theatre, the National Gallery of Art, Canada, and Smithsonian Museums. This appointment to the Council is not only a significant role for Doherty, but also recognizes the work of MOCA Jacksonville as significant within the cultural sector. This opportunity will highlight the impact of the museum's programs, exhibitions, and intellectual exchange, while bringing positive attention to the University of North Florida, the city of Jacksonville, and the strengths of the cultural sector in Northeast Florida.
Through her work as a Cultural Diplomacy Leadership Council Member, Doherty will gain expanded access to international artists, exhibitions, programs, and partnerships that will enhance the impacts of MOCA Jacksonville on both the local community it serves and visitors to the area, while also growing its impact on the region by attracting a broader range of cultural tourists.
