Southeastern Art Museum Directors Conference
May 1-3, 2024
Dear Fellow SEAMD Members,
I am delighted to welcome you to the SEAMD Conference 2024. Coinciding with MOCA’s 100 Year Anniversary, the conference this year takes inspiration from some of the themes our museum is exploring during our centenary year - looking to the past, to celebrate our moment, and dream about the future to come!
I’ve tried to incorporate any “wish list” session topics suggested by you all over the past couple of months, as well as a civilized 9:30 a.m. coffee and pastries start, with sessions beginning at 10 a.m. A registration table will be set up at the museum from 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening. As you will all be arriving at different times, I suggest that you settle into your hotel, before making your way to MOCA at your convenience and enjoying some of the evening’s monthly Downtown Artwalk activities that take place both inside and around our venue. We will then all convene together at 7:30 p.m. for the welcome dinner on the museum’s fifth floor. Please do reach out to my fabulous assistant, Rikki Southworth, to let us know if you have any special dietary restrictions.
In fact, Rikki will be your “go-to” person for all things conference! Should you have any questions, queries or need any assistance or guidance, please do not hesitate to be in touch with her. Rikki’s contact details are as follows:
Email: rikki.southworth@unf.edu // Office: 904 620 4208 // Cell: 904 671 4683
A negotiated room rate of $140 per night is available at the Marriott Hotel, just a short stroll from the museum. I encourage you to book as soon as possible as rooms tend to fill up fast and there are a number of events happening in town that week.
I am so very much looking forward to welcoming you all to MOCA and to Jacksonville soon!
All best wishes,
Caitlín
