Teen Art Studio

DEVELOPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF ARTISTS

Teen Art Studio, formerly Emerging Artist Program, is a studio course for teens focused on painting, either acrylic or oil, that takes place during Fall and Spring semesters. Each semester consists of eight in-person classes, organized around four individual projects and several smaller supporting assignments. This program also includes an online portion using Canvas Infrastructure, a web-based learning system for online teaching. Each semester features one clothed figure workshop, critiques from visiting professionals, and presentations with lectures introducing numerous techniques and concepts. This program is designed to be similar to a college studio art course, streamlined for teens. The ability to meet deadlines and show one’s progress of work is critical for student development.

All experience levels are encouraged to apply! Students enrolled in previous semesters are welcome to reapply and continue their artistic growth.
