DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the coordinator of membership engagement and the assistant director of development, the development intern will undertake fundraising initiatives to support the museum and assist with membership operations. While open to all colleges and degree paths, the ideal candidate for this role will be interested in gaining real-world experience in non-profit management, business development, and networking.

Specific responsibilities might include:

  • Checking in with the coordinator of membership engagement and/or the assistant director of development each day the intern is on duty.
  • Fostering strong relationships with current and lapsed members and donors.
  • Representing MOCA Jacksonville at events inside and outside the Museum when available.
  • Assisting with membership operations.
  • Maintaining relationships with community partners.
  • Completing other relevant assignments given each week.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should feel comfortable engaging with MOCA members, donors, and community partners both over the phone and in person. They should also have basic computer skills (including Microsoft office) strong communication skills, punctuality, dependability, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

TIME COMMITMENT

Fifteen hours per week. Schedule can be customized to the intern’s class schedule. Shifts must occur between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays. Occasional Friday evening and Saturday daytime events and 5-9 P.M. during Downtown Art Walk on the first Wednesday of each month depending on the intern’s availability.

NUMBER OF INTERNS

More than one intern could be chosen if the candidates are qualified.
