MOCA JACKSONVILLE TEAMS with Art with a Heart in Healthcare to present a photography and mixed-media exhibition featuring the work of talented patient artists from Wolfson Children's Hospital. Patients collaborated with artists-in-residence to create revealing and modern takes on the self-portrait while being treated in the hospital. Express Your #Selfie provides an innovative look at the highly popular concept of the “selfie” through the eyes of hospitalized children. The Art with a Heart team encourages these young artists to expand upon the basic photographic self-portrait, revealing something more personal. Their artistic additions help transcend their hospital experience while promoting a level of self-confidence and self-awareness.
