CIRCUMVOLVE:

NARRATIVES AND RESPONSES TO LIFE CYCLES CIRCUMVOLVE

DECEMBER 9, 2017 - MARCH 18, 2018

As MOCA Jacksonville's 2017 UNF student artist-in-residence, Rachel Huff-Smith's painting series portrays the personal narrative of her experience of new motherhood coinciding with the deaths of her mother and grandmother. Personal and emotive, the figures are both realistic and abstract as they reflect the distortion of memory, grief, longing and the remnant of joy.

Opening Reception: Thursday January, 11 2018 from 6-8 p.m.
