What to expect on my museum visit?

At MOCA Jacksonville, we are dedicated to making your experience safe and enjoyable. At this time, MOCA Jacksonville is open to visitors for pre-registered tours (both in-person tours and virtual tours) and for online ordering from the MOCA CAFÉ. Please see below for more information.


HEALTH AND SAFETY

 

Am I required to wear a mask?

All staff and museum visitors over the age of two years old are required to wear a mask or face covering while inside the museum. All visitors are required to check in at the front desk.

What if I am feeling unwell?

If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you please stay home and seek medical attention if necessary. Please do not visit the museum if you have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, headache, chills, muscle pain or loss of taste or sense of smell. If you have been exposed or tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days, we ask you that you do not visit the museum.

Will someone take my temperature when I enter MOCA?

No. At this time, we are not taking the temperature of guests or staff.

Will there be hand sanitizer available?

Yes. Hand sanitizer is available at stations throughout the museum.

Are there special cleaning protocols in place?

Yes. The museum is cleaned throughout the day at regular intervals utilizing CDC approved cleaning solutions. Special attention to high touch areas and following museum programs is prioritized.

  

TOURS

 

Am I required to register for tours in advance online?

Yes. Museum visitors are required to register for tours in advance online. Click here to register for a tour.

 When are tours offered?

Virtual Tours are offered Tuesday through Thursday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.. In-person Museum Tours are offered Friday - Saturday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m, and Sundays at 1 p.m., and 3 p.m..

 Why are timed tours required?

Timed tours are required to accommodate safe social distancing in the galleries as well as additional cleaning in between tours.

How many people will be on each tour?

Tours have a maximum of 10 guests. 

How do I check-in for my in-person tour?

For in-person museum tours, when you enter the museum, you are required to check in at the front desk. Once you check in, visitors will enjoy the lobby gallery until the tour begins. Safe social distancing will be required during check in.

How do I check-in for my virtual tour?

For virtual tours, after you register for your exhibition virtual tour, we will send you a link by email to be able to access your tour. 

Will social distancing be required on in-person tours?

Yes. There will be signage to guide and promote safe social distancing throughout the museum.

Can I renew or purchase a museum membership at the museum?

Yes. We will have no-touch online purchasing available at the front desk for museum membership and renewals.

Is the 5th floor Loft Art Explorium open?

No. The 5th floor is temporarily closed to the public.

 

HOURS

 

Does MOCA have the same hours of operation?

No.  The museum is only open to visitors that have registered for a tour at the time of their tour, and is open for takeout customers of the MOCA CAFE.

What are the current museum hours?

Tuesday-Saturday

Friday - Saturday Tour Times at 11 a.m - 12:30 p.m. // 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. // 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Sunday

Tour Times at 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. // 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.


CAFÉ

 

Is the CAFÉ open?

Yes. The CAFE is open for takeout and grab-and-go only.

CAFE hours are from Tuesday - Saturday 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. for Takeout and Grab & Go

Sunday - Monday: Open 12 - 5:00 p.m. for Grab & Go only.

Can I dine in the CAFÉ?

No. The dining room is temporarily closed.

How do I place my takeout order online?

CAFE online orders can be placed by going to mocajacksonville.revelup.com/weborder.

Can I order in person?

Orders can be placed in advance or while at the museum. You can place your MOCA CAFÉ order by going to mocajacksonville.revelup.com/weborder.

 Are there special safety protocols for staff in place at the CAFÉ?

Yes, there are safety protocols in place for both staff and guests.

  •  All employees are required to wear face masks.
  • Employees are required to wash their hands and apply an alcohol-based sanitizer every 20 minutes.
  • Employees are required to practice 6 ft. safe distancing with guests and staff.

Are there special cleaning protocols in place?

MOCA Café uses disinfectant CDC approved for use against COVID-19 .

  •  All hard and non-porous surfaces and high touchpoints are thoroughly disinfected before opening, at regular intervals throughout service and at closing.

Are there special precautions in regard to food preparation?

  • Gloves are required for preparing and handling food.
  • Food contact surfaces are washed, rinsed, and sanitized after each use.
  • MOCA CAFÉ is utilizing single-use condiments, food containers, utensils, dishes, napkins tablecloths and menus.
