Monumental Thinking: Past, Present, and Future Monuments to the Confederacy

Thursday, February 25, 2021 // 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Event Description

Monumental Thinking Eventrite

Rallies, protests, and iconoclastic actions in response to the killing of George Floyd in 2020 have refocused attention and forced a new national reckoning across the south and beyond with public monuments associated with the Confederacy. Join UNF Professor, Scott Brown, to learn about monumental thinking: why and how we build monuments, what they intend and what they actually mean, and what we do when they age so very badly.
