Micro-Macro is the first exhibition to bring together the work of two acclaimed New York-based painters, Andrew Sendor and Ali Banisadr. This seemingly unexpected pairing — juxtaposing Sendor’s stylistically photo-realistic paintings with Banisadr’s predominantly abstract paintings — explores the natural kinship found in the work of these two painters. Despite their obvious differences in style and content, common to both is the painterly process, as well as influences, ideas, and themes fundamental to both bodies of work — the constructed narrative; the imagination; the theatrical; and the history of art.
