Ideas of Our Time: Female Identity and Perspective in the Arts

Thursday, January 21, 2021 // 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Event Description

Romancing_Goodman The Drama

Join us for an evening of thoughtful conversation around women in the arts in conjunction with our Romancing the Mirror  exhibition. Our panel  includes Jillian Marie Browning, an interdisciplinary artist pursuing themes of feminism, identity, and the contemporary black experience at the University of Florida. Laura Winn, an Assistant Professor of Art History in Jacksonville University’s Stein College of Fine Arts.  And Sarah C. LaChance Adams, the Florida Blue Distinguished Professor and the Director of the Florida Blue Center for Ethics at the University of North Florida.  The group exhibition Romancing the Mirror showcases a new generation of women artists. Although developing in different directions, these artists have in common the masterful, yet playful, use of different techniques employed with freedom and ease, to present an inherently female sense of self and way of looking at the world. Click here to register for this free event.
