Lawsikia J. Hodges is the Deputy General Counsel of the Office of General Counsel, City of Jacksonville. Ms. Hodges provides government operations and transactional counsel to the mayor's office, 19-member Jacksonville City Council, executive department directors and chiefs, constitutional officers, independent authorities, and City boards and commissions. Her government law practice includes real estate and public finance transactions, government procurement, federal and local grants, economic development, open meetings law, public records, and ethics. Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel in 2007, Ms. Hodges was a business law associate at Foley & Lardner LLP (Jacksonville Office). Ms. Hodges is a Florida Bar Board Certified City, County & Local Government Lawyer and is an AV Preeminent® Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Rated™ attorney.
Ms. Hodges is a proud 1998 University of North Florida cum laude graduate. While attending UNF, Ms. Hodges majored in Political Science and minored in History. Ms. Hodges earned her law degree with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2002. Ms. Hodges is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Jacksonville Bar Association, the D.W. Perkins Bar Association, and the Florida Association of County Attorneys. Ms. Hodges is a current participant of Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2022 and a former board member of Pace Center for Girls, Inc. (Jacksonville).
