Alexa Velez is from Florida and lives in North Carolina. In 2017, she graduated from University of North Florida with dual degrees, a Bachelor of Fine Art in photography and a Bachelor of Art in English with a minor in film studies. In 2021, Velez graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Master of Fine Art in visual art. As a graduate student, she received the Chancellor's Fellowship and won best in show for her thesis work. Her short films have screened nationally and internationally.[1]
