Allen Thomas Ball is a New York City-based multidisciplinary artist working in painting, installation, sculpture, and prints. Ball attended the University of North Florida where he double majored in Fine Art and Art History, receiving his Bachelor's in Fine Arts in 2017. He earned his MFA at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY in 2019, graduating cum laude. Currently, Ball is a Member Artist at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts Studio Program near Times Square.
Artist Statement:
“I create work by borrowing the raw materials of our planet itself and utilizing the primeval impulse of mark-making. I contemplate deep time, and the current trajectory our climate takes through materials that include: dust, clay, iron, charcoal, ash, asphalt, insect nests, discarded materials, and found objects.”[1]
