CARLY GLOVINSKI, Leisure Weave 14, 2017. Ink and correction fluid on woven vellum and Bristol.20 x16 inches. Gift of the artist and Morgan Lehman Gallery, 2018.03. ©Carly Glovinski. Used by permission.
For this project, you will need:
- Two pieces of white paper (8.5 x 11 or 9 x 12)
- One ruler
- Pencils
- Scissors
- Colored pencils, markers, or crayons
- Glue or tape
Step 1: Grab two pieces of white paper.
Step 2: Fold one piece of paper in half (hamburger-fold).
Step 3: The folded crease should now be the bottom of your paper. Draw lines one inch apart from the fold on the bottom towards the top of your paper, leaving about a one inch margin at the top.
Step 4: Carefully cut along your lines.
Step 6: Now grab your other piece of paper. Cut it into one inch strips.
Step 7: Decorate the paper strips with colored pencils, markers, or crayons.
Step 8: Weave the colorful strips of paper through your loom, following an over-under pattern.
Step 9: Continue until your loom is full! Then, glue or tape the ends of each strip to keep your weaving in place. Decorate your loom with more colors and patterns.
