In this fusion of visual and musical art inspired
by Hans Hofmann: Works on Paper, a
concert by the Jacksonville Symphony Chamber Orchestra is accompanied by a
projection designed by UNF’s Vanessa Cruz, associate professor of graphic
design and digital media, and Sheila Goloborotko, assistant professor of
The Symphony explores new avenues on multiple
levels: new repertoire, in a new venue, for new audiences, in a fresh and
engaging multimedia genre. The intimacy of a chamber orchestra juxtaposed with
a visual art space and visual projection create a product that speaks to the
audience in ways that are unattainable in a traditional performance hall.
This collaboration of MOCA, UNF, and the
Jacksonville Symphony strengthens the bonds in the artistic community and
facilitates creative development through the sharing of complementary resources
from some of the largest and most dynamic cultural institutions in
